He needs a forever home. |
Carter
is a sweet energetic boy who has had a rough start in his young life.
Abandoned while still a ‘teen’, he was been adopted by people who were
not a match for his personality, and he ended up on the kill shelter's “Rescue
Row” and, if we don’t find a rescue for him, his days are numbered as
the shelter is pushing to get all rescue dogs our.
He’s about a year old, a Border Collie mix who can’t wait to play ball. This 45 pound boy is looking for someone who can give him outlets for
his energy and playfulness,

Duke is a 4 year old, 43 lb. white with back and brown, neutered, male Australian Shepherd mix.
I'm that good looking, special dog that you've been looking for! I'm full of energy, although I also settle down nicely. I will require a lot of exercise, in addition to time spent on daily training to help me learn my manners. l like other dogs and along well with many of them so I can go home as a second dog. Because of my breed, I have a tendency to be a little territorial. I would love to go home with someone who will give me lots of attention, training and structure, and love! Ideal home: Best in a home with children 16 years or older. |

Enzo is a 7yr old, 33lb. neutered, Blue Heeler X.
It’s hard to believe that this energetic, handsome little guy with the perky attitude is 7 years old! Enzo is very sensitive about being handled, and his new family should work on this using tasty treats. His greeting skills with other dogs when on leash may also need some work. This smart, athletic dog will want to be exercised to exhaustion twice a day, which could mean a one-hour hike, a bike ride, a jog, some obedience training, or a session of fetch. Enzo would definitely enjoy training. Come meet this fun-loving guy! Ideal Home: Best in a home with adults only ADOPTED

Sonya is a 1 year old, 16 lb. spayed female, red-speckled Queensland Heeler mix.
Sonya is cautious of new people at first, but once she knows you are okay, she's your best friend! She likes sitting in laps and enjoys a good neck scratch. Sonya is good with other dogs and seems to relax more in the presence of another dog. Her exercise requirements shouldn't be excessive - give her a couple of walks around the neighborhood each day. This cute little number should settle nicely into the right home and become a loyal, happy lifelong companion. Ideal home: Best in home with children 12 years or older. |

Stu
Henson, k3-51229, is a Border Collie mix who is
approximately 1 1/2 years old and about 33 pounds.
He is very timid but warms up quickly with a cuddle. He gives kisses when he's happy and is genuinely a sweet dog. UPDATE: Stu is a sweet dog that needs love and care. He is very calm around everyone, even strangers. He is very shy at first, but with time he warms up to people. He is the perfect size and demeanor for a lapdog. He prefers sitting or lying on your lap instead of running around. While standing, he looks like a show dog or a statue. He moves very little while outside, wanting to be close to those he likes. It seems like he would adjust well to any family with other pets. He is more active while inside than he is outside. He loves warm, dry places and the security of someone’s lap. Lucia Myers, k4-52214,
is the sweetest female Border Collie you can imagine. She is approximately 2 years old and weighs 30 pounds.
She is terrified with her situation at the shelter and wanted to be as close as possible to anyone who would have her. Lucia has gorgeous brown and white coloring, a soft coat and a beautiful face with green eyes. She would return all the love given and more. This charmer has been someone's dear pet. When approached in the kennel she appeared friendly but a little insecure. It did not take lots of effort to get her out and she seemed appreciative for the break. She was willing to walk and does fairly well on the leash despite the fact that she wants to be as close to you as possible. When the shelter person sat a couple of times to make notes she very gently put her paws in her lap and leaned up against me. Lucia’s main focus was the shelter person, so it was hard to judge her reaction to other dogs or cats but from what she saw Lucia was unconcerned in either. She was equally friendly toward other volunteers. It’s amazing how quickly these dogs can bond with you – it does a heart good! It just breaks your heart to then leave them behind. Because Lucia is a stray, it is unknown if she is good with children, cats or if she is housebroken.
Due to overcrowding, the shelter will be forced to euthanize Lucia very soon.

Sheila,
132153, is an approximately 2 year old, spayed, tri-colored, female
Australian Cattle Dog.
She weighs approximately 35 lbs. Sweet, shy Sheila, she was found pregnant by the animal control officers in Madera. A wonderful volunteer fostered Sheila until she had her puppies and the whole time she nursed the litter. Then the whole family made the trip up to Marin through our Pet Partnership Program. Sheila has been through a lot recently. Now she is looking for a new family to call her own. Because of her shyness, Sheila will do best in a family with children over 16 years of age. She is an active breed, an Australian Cattledog mix, so will need lots of exercise - plan two 45 minute hikes in open space every day. Sheila is a sweet, sensitive dog who will do best with a sensitive, patient adopter. Anyone who fits that bill will be rewarded with a great lifelong companion. Ideal Home: Best in a home with children 16 years or older |

Pepper,
AO69730 is a cheerful medium-sized seven-month old tri-colored neutered
male Border Collie mix.
This happy and highly intelligent puppy is very food motivated and a quick learner. Since Pepper is a puppy, he has plenty of enthusiastic energy and loves to run and play with soft toys. This smart and capable fellow looks forward to continuing his basic training in a loving and active home. Shelter volunteers note that Pepper is very attentive to people so he is highly trainable and in the hands of a caring owner will exceed expectations for being an obedient and well-behaved canine companion. Pepper is a very typical puppy who needs work and training. He will do best in an active family that is willing to spend time training him daily. Pepper is much too energetic and playful to live in a household with cats.

Bingo is a tri-colored, approximately 2 year old, 45-50 lb. neutered, male Border Collie/Mc Nab mix. He’s micro- chipped and up to date on his vaccinations.
Bingo has energy to spare and is very responsive and cooperative.
He should be ok with other dogs, as he passed the shelter’s temp test. It is unknown if he is good with cats, but with his toy drive, he might want to chase cats.
Because of his energy level and play drive, kids should be at least 9 or 10 years old, so he doesn’t overrun them. The kids also need to be old enough to be able to support training efforts. |
